Grocery shopping & Dim Sum

First day in a long time that I actually spent the whole day outdoors, awesome. Went for dim sum for like 3 hours, went grocery shopping for 2 and IKEA for 2. No idea how I was able to spend so much time doing those things... Guess it's nice when you have good company. This jacket I am wearing, it's so Harry Potter I love it. Tried wearing only under eye liner to make the look a bit more day-friendly, worked really well!

很久以来的第一次整天在室外，感觉很好。去了茶楼吃点心吃了三个小时，去了超市逛了两个小时，去了IKEA逛了两个小时。不能想想我为什么可以花那么多时间做这些事情。。。我想有聊得来的伴做什么都开心。我穿着的夹克，很哈利波特我很爱。试着只上下眼线让日妆看起来没那么中，效果很好!

-Backpacks are my newest obsession. They are so easy to use and you have two free hands.
-Yummy candy I always have in my bag along with some chocolate.
-Megan's funny face photo.
-After I took a photo of her, she took a photo of me. She is only 2 so I think she did a pretty good job.
-Fresh wasabi... yum.

- 一排又一排的青蛙和兔子。超可爱。

- 背包是我最近迷上的东西。很方便，而且可以空出两只手。

- 常在我的包里有巧克力和这些好吃的糖果。

- 我帮她拍了照片，她又帮我拍一张。我觉得只有两岁的她拍得很不错。

- 新鲜的芥末。。。好吃。

- 很多人问我用什么型号的相机，这个就是了。

Stamp Overload

It's been a really long week. Trying to buy Christmas gifts for family, friends, colleagues and everyone else that doesn't fit into the catergory. Then, trying to finish annual reports for the end of the year, packing for my one month trip away from civilization, trying to meet up with the friends before my social suicide... and then, keep on with my editorial duties which is super fun! Serious. Love doing it.

I love sending Christmas cards. I used to send it to everyone I knew under the sun, which when I was younger, compromised of all the kids in 6th grades (including the ones I didn't like). Now, I guess I know more people and it's impossible to hand write all the card unless I start writing in October. So, this year, I narrowed down the list a bit, and still my tongue went numb from licking stamps.

Last night, I spent the whole night writing addresses on envelopes. The first one was neatly printed and the last one looked like it was written on a slant. Poor friend whose last names ended with a Z. I wonder what I am going to get for Christmas this year? Seems like as I grow older, I am harder to get gifts for. I tend to know what I want and heart-felt gestures matter to me most. But then again, I will be forever grateful if someone got me those Gareth Pugh wedges.....

Mom is always right. :)

As winters progress, my wardrobe color schemes tend to float towards darker colors. So now, I try to make a conscious effort to try and keep my winter clothes as color-heavy as possible. Trust me, I was wearing all black this morning. Not good. This jacket is a gift from my mom. She brought it about 5 years ago saying, "Valerie, you are going to regret if you don't buy this. It's such an investment piece." True enough, Years later, I love it. It's warm and reminds me of my inner bear.

I have a fascination with weird rings. Rings that no one would ever really wear and physically make my fingers ache from uncomfort, weight and sharpness of certain metals. Someone sent me an email telling me that my clothes are nice but rather boring?! Hmmm.... I am not exactly dressing to impress but this is my style. I am quite subdued and occasionally, I enjoy the dress-up. Usually, I don't venture outside of interesting jewelry.

AGATHA jewelry is awesome. I am serious. I am going to point fingers now but I recently received some gifts from a jewelry competitor. The ring smells weird after a couple wears and the necklace makes weird scratches on the surface. AGATHA is quite simple but with layers, it makes everything so much more interesting!

Lapse in judgement

After a seemingly long week of travelling, playing catch-up and replying a staggering amount of e-mails, my day of rest finally came. For the last few months, I have been telling myself the importance of taking a break and resting at least 1 day in a week. It's that one day of sanity I have for myself and it's a period of peace where I appreciate the things that mean most to me.

What do you do on your days off?

For me, I like waking up early and staying in bed till late. I like to clean up the house and pack the mess that I often leave throughout the week. I like taking some time to read the thoughtful messages I get through the week. I think about things that could be done and improved. I could sit there for hours not doing anything at all. I read novels about love, families and possibilities.

Speaking of reading, I got for new lenses for my glasses. Weird thing about my eyesight it that it actually stabilized and decreased in the degree which is really odd... hmmmm... not sure I understand. Of course, I am wearing OG. What else would I wear? I have always thought that a smart pair of frames always freshens a person up!

ooooh yes, trying to brainstorm ways to design jewelry for an upcoming project. (ssshhhh) and I saw some things I really like.....
