First day in a long time that I actually spent the whole day outdoors, awesome.  Went for dim sum for like 3 hours, went grocery shopping for 2 and IKEA for 2.  No idea how I was able to spend so much time doing those things... Guess it's nice when you have good company.  This jacket I am wearing, it's so Harry Potter I love it.  Tried wearing only under eye liner to make the look a bit more day-friendly, worked really well!

很久以来的第一次整天在室外，感觉很好。去了茶楼吃点心吃了三个小时，去了超市逛了两个小时，去了IKEA逛了两个小时。不能想想我为什么可以花那么多时间做这些事情。。。我想有聊得来的伴做什么都开心。我穿着的夹克，很哈利波特我很爱。试着只上下眼线让日妆看起来没那么中，效果很好!

- Rows and rows of frogs and bunnies. Super cute.
-Backpacks are my newest obsession.  They are so easy to use and you have two free hands.
-Yummy candy I always have in my bag along with some chocolate.
-Megan's funny face photo.
-After I took a photo of her, she took a photo of me.  She is only 2 so I think she did a pretty good job.
-Fresh wasabi... yum.
-Many of you asked what camera I use, here you go.

- 我想我真得很爱裸色和金色的指甲配搭。。。

- 一排又一排的青蛙和兔子。超可爱。

- 背包是我最近迷上的东西。很方便，而且可以空出两只手。

- 常在我的包里有巧克力和这些好吃的糖果。

- Megan的鬼脸照片。

- 我帮她拍了照片，她又帮我拍一张。我觉得只有两岁的她拍得很不错。

- 新鲜的芥末。。。好吃。

- 很多人问我用什么型号的相机，这个就是了。

The One

The final chapter

I am on my last chapter of my book, yes the chapter I have been rewriting over and over, but I need your help.  I have realized over the course of the past few months that the best insights I have gotten come from other people, because we all have different views towards the idea of love.  So, I call this "The One" Movement. 

Treat it was a fun excercise to better understand yourself or what you want for love. 

Get a piece of paper and answer two questions:

1) What does 'The One' mean to you?

2) How do you know you have meet the one?

Once that's done, send me an email at Valeriedv88@msn.com to ask for a mailing address.

Be aware that anything sent in could be used as a direct scanning for my book. So, you can choose to remain anonymous, but I would prefer it if you kept your name there.

最后一章

我在写我的书的最后一章，对，就是我重写有重写的那章，不过我需要你的帮忙。我发现在过去的数个月里我最好的灵感都是来自别人，因为我们对爱情都有不同的看法。所以，我叫这个“对的人”运动。

可以试试做一个练习去进一步了解自己或者你想要什么样的爱情。拿出一张纸，回答两个问题：

1）“对的人”对你的意义是什么？

2）你怎样知道你已经遇到了对的人？

Never ever wear lipstick but was feeling a bit adventurous today.  Had a meeting and wanted to look a bit more tied together perhaps? Well, Chanel lipstick and turn-worthy skirt later, I was frolicking ourside my apartment making my neighbors stare.  Awesome fun.  Completely quite unintentional but ended up looking like a cross between Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood?

以前没有上过唇膏，但是今天觉得想冒险一下。可能是开完会，想要看起来比较完整一点吧？那，香奈儿唇膏和裙子，我的邻居都把目光投到在家外面踱步的我。很好玩。完全没有特意造成的效果，可是看起来很像白雪公主和小红帽的混合体？

That bad ass bracelet I am wearing? It was a lovely gift from someone who means a lot to me.  I love it because of the thought and effort it took into choosing a present that best suits me, it shows understanding of who I am.  And that kind of understanding is rare.... Before I forget to share, my hair is black, like black black... Makes me look serious?
 

那让我看起来坏坏的手链？它是一个对我很重要的人送的。我很爱这条手链是因为那个人花了很多心思和脑力去选这份最适合我的礼物，它代表了那个人对我的了解。而不是很多人会那么了解我。。。在我忘了以前，我的头发是黑色的，非常黑。。。有让我看起来很严肃吗？

Bailing on a Friday night

Wearing: Burberry knit sweater, Vivienne Tam heels, Prada clutch, Nafnaf chiffon top

This was the outfit I chose to wear after my long and hard deliberation with myself.  I couldn't bring myself to wear some snazzy pleasy flappers dress when I actually have to go to work and thought that dressing like a party girl in broad daylight was hardly tasteful.  Pulled out my favorite Burberry knitwear, had it for years on end and it's just super comfy.  The more I wear it, the more it grows on me.  Got these Vivienne Tam chunky heels yesterday.  Saw them on the shelf and just had to have them.... they are just so perfect.  They are really easy to wear and just have a sturdy air about them.  I could run a maranthon in them and not get a blister.. ( pushing it a bit, but you get my love for these new shoes....)

At the end of the day, didn't end up going to the Armani party because I wanted to hang out with my baby cousin before I leave for Japan and missed out on her childhood memories.  Took another look at my calendar and 4 store openings, 2 food-tasting, 1 art gallery opening and 2 art concepts next week seemed like enough work for me! I still need to go to Tods to take a look at my bag!  Lucky I didn't dress up for nothing.  Had friends there and told me that it was like every Friday night in Hong Kong.  Loud, obnoxious and just so Hong Kong. 

Ha. Can you tell I am a party pooper?  Just to reinstate that fact, last time I said I was going to go out on night of delicious fun, there are an appointment list.  My friends called each other and said something like, "Guess who is rolling tonight? Valerie." "Damn, I am going to call (names, names, names.... xxxx) Then, I get a phone call back, "Hey Val, you are sure you are going out? Party of 20 coming as well."

Anyways, that night when the party of 20 was going to coming out for a night of Dom Dom, loud music and sweaty dancing, it ended in something like this. 

9:00 pm: "Errr... Candace... I got to finish my proposals."

FAIL. I have great friends that don't get mad.  :)

Anyways.... look what Pedder Red sent me... in my email.  It became my wanted item for Christmas, just when I thought I didn't have anything!! They are perfect for me to go to Japan in.  Who said snow gear couldn't be stylish? I think they are kinda chunky and cute.  Dope. Think I would take the grey one to not overskill on the whole indian, fringes and fur trend.  Overload....

Why Marley & me?

Many people have asked me where my blog name "Marley & me" comes from.  An explanation of this name would result in lots of giggles, laughs and perhapps some scorns.  Remember the movie with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston? Yup.. I called when that movie came out and when I watched it with my man, I swore that the next pet we would have would be called Marley.   

I have dreamt many a nights about what kind of dog I would get and how I would play with this adorable fluffy creature. Yet, all this remaind a dream.  My mom hates anything tiny, flurry and remotely resembling a tiny teddy bear.  Weird but true.  Once, my cousin brought home a turtle, those tiny turtles you find in pet stores.  The turtle was placed on the table 3 meters away from her.  She screamed so loud, my cousin started crying.  Poor turtle.





Yet in Hong Kong, people rarely have pets and only some of my friends have the occasional dog. One of my buddies, Kev, has this bull-dog who is super cuddle-worthy and fat but that was it.  All my friends closest pet is their mouse, computer mouse.  The failures of living in a city. 





Imagine my happiness when my neighbor bought two identical looking toy poodles.  They look like tiny cuter versions of teddy bears.  One male, one female.  Super cute.  I went over today and couldn't get enough of them.  I especially like the male, he's the perfect gentleman. 

P.S. Don't tell my neighbor.  I am going to start calling him Marley so he will respond it that name.  Oh, imagine her anger.  I think she wants him to be called Boo Boo or Poo Poo?! Gay.
