It's been really cold and I have been smouldered with event prepping things.  Selected color schemes for flower garlands, decorations for venue... sticking to a fiary like theme so it feels like I am planning my own wedding.  Had a meeting today and was wearing a slouchy sweater.  Couldn't be bothered to change hence the trench hoping that it would tie everything together.

Yeah right.

最近很冷而且被统筹活动的细节淹没了.  选了花环的颜色系列, 场地的装饰... 用一个仙子般的主题让我觉得是在筹办自己的婚礼.  今天穿着松垮的外套去了一个会议.  懒得换衣服于是穿了大衣希望可以看起来好一点.

Getting a big used to my short hair and thinking that it should go even shorter....
Love this top because ribon collared tops always seem a bit too girly. 
Add asymmetrical hems and a looser neck line equals perfect top.

TRYING TO GO CORPORATE once again with my wardrobe is such a hard thing to do when I have been living in t-shirts, shorts and EXCESSIVE accessories.  Might sound really weird but I have been recently obsessed with how my silhouette looks from behind. 

Because? THAT'S THE LASTING IMAGE OF WHAT STAYS IN SOMEONE'S MIND AS THEY WATCH YOU WALK AWAY.
And, I have a feeling that is going to happen soon.

再次尝试转型企业，我只有汗衫，短裤和过多饰品的衣柜让这件事情变得很艰难。听起来可能有点奇怪，但是我最近迷上我的背影。

为什么？当别人看着你离开，那是在那人脑海里永恒不变的形象。

而且，我有一种感觉很快要发生了。

Bailing on a Friday night

This was the outfit I chose to wear after my long and hard deliberation with myself.  I couldn't bring myself to wear some snazzy pleasy flappers dress when I actually have to go to work and thought that dressing like a party girl in broad daylight was hardly tasteful.  Pulled out my favorite Burberry knitwear, had it for years on end and it's just super comfy.  The more I wear it, the more it grows on me.  Got these Vivienne Tam chunky heels yesterday.  Saw them on the shelf and just had to have them.... they are just so perfect.  They are really easy to wear and just have a sturdy air about them.  I could run a maranthon in them and not get a blister.. ( pushing it a bit, but you get my love for these new shoes....)

At the end of the day, didn't end up going to the Armani party because I wanted to hang out with my baby cousin before I leave for Japan and missed out on her childhood memories.  Took another look at my calendar and 4 store openings, 2 food-tasting, 1 art gallery opening and 2 art concepts next week seemed like enough work for me! I still need to go to Tods to take a look at my bag!  Lucky I didn't dress up for nothing.  Had friends there and told me that it was like every Friday night in Hong Kong.  Loud, obnoxious and just so Hong Kong. 

Ha. Can you tell I am a party pooper?  Just to reinstate that fact, last time I said I was going to go out on night of delicious fun, there are an appointment list.  My friends called each other and said something like, "Guess who is rolling tonight? Valerie." "Damn, I am going to call (names, names, names.... xxxx) Then, I get a phone call back, "Hey Val, you are sure you are going out? Party of 20 coming as well."

Anyways, that night when the party of 20 was going to coming out for a night of Dom Dom, loud music and sweaty dancing, it ended in something like this. 

9:00 pm: "Errr... Candace... I got to finish my proposals."

FAIL. I have great friends that don't get mad.  :)

Anyways.... look what Pedder Red sent me... in my email.  It became my wanted item for Christmas, just when I thought I didn't have anything!! They are perfect for me to go to Japan in.  Who said snow gear couldn't be stylish? I think they are kinda chunky and cute.  Dope. Think I would take the grey one to not overskill on the whole indian, fringes and fur trend.  Overload....

Looking at things through smoggy eyes

In the last week, I have been presented with a wonderful opportunity, something that requires to test my patience, dedication and endurance.  It is with the help of wonderful people who have gave me the opportunities to make it where I am today.  There are days where I doubt myself, but these are the days where I am clearer of true friends and supporters. 

Got this e-mail today from someone who never questioned and was always supportive:

"Out of all the people I have met over the last 2 years, you stand out as 1 big huge ball of happy positive energy. You are, without any doubt, the only person that in good and bad has kept her head up and went ahead and performed exactly the way you promised.

Say hi to the World's most expensive perfume.  It looks so expensive.  It is expensive.  It's like the most expensive scented water you have ever laid eyes on.  It's will mold with your sweat and turn it into gold flakes that you can sew to people with weird fetishes.  Sorry, been watching a lot of House, he is hot.  Love sarcastic men. 

How many Valeries would you want in the same room?  I don't think anyone could put up with too much of me, especially when I start talking like Dr. House all the time.  Actually, I may sound like I am talking gibberish, but anyone know that teleseries House?

Writing something for Hong Kong Tatler called "Investment pieces" where I wrote about clothing items we can purchase and be happy with it for the rest of our lives! And one of my favorite items is the classic, Burberry Mackintosh. Ohhh... where do I start? It's one of those things that go with everything and anything. Paired with a tiny night dress, it oozes sophistication and style. Worn with leather boots, urban comfort. It's a versatile jacket which embodies everything important and essential about Burberry, one of my favorite go-to brands.

Look at the fall 09 Burberry campaign with Emma Watson. It's so beautiful and simple. That's how the Mackintosh should be worn. Tousled hair, smoky eyes, muted color, huge semi structured and slouchy bag. Perfect.

Look at David Blasberg and Mary-Kate Olsen. Suitable for males and females. Depending on personal style, it dresses the jacket differently. Love it.

Coming back to Emma Watson. Some people argue that she is plain and snobby-looking, but I like her young style and elegance. Look at this thing she did for Burberry.

Recognize that Prorsum Dress made out of feathers that everyone from Agyness Dean to Kate Bosworth wore? I think Emma still wore it best. Pale Skin, loose hair up-do. She is one person we have to look out for.
