Went to Ecco preview today and kudos to the attention to details in creating some kind of canape platter to have a sit-down lunch without the muss and fuss of different courses.  Really appreciated the thought and dedication to the details in outfit changes even though Ecco is just a shoe brand.  Loved how they picked FINDS to showcase their collection.  Look at the colors of the restaurant and stunning Jaakko Sorsa behind the bar! :) I did creep into the kitchen and attempt to steal another platter but I think everyone saw....

As per usual blogger behavior, I was looking through the photos from today, trying to decide which one to use when I realized one thing... they were all so good, not that I looked good but the photos technically which just... interesting.  I never say this enough but sometimes people don't really understand that the success of THIS... is because I have a very supporting photographer.  He tells me when I look like crap and when I need more 'black stuff on my eyes'.  It's great to see the developement of his different styles and be able to experience his experimentation of different photography techniques. 

Some day, I will be able to look back and see the last couple years of my life fold out.

Cooking with Jaakko Sorsa/ FINDS

POACHING/ CHOPPING/ BAKING
ONE STEP AT A TIME TOWARDS FINE-DINING WITH JAAKKO

LOCATION: FINDS/ THE LUXE MANOR

I have always wanted to be a cook, or at least remotely skilled in the kitchen.
When my friend, Jaakko Sorsa (Head chef at FINDS) offered to assist me in my journey to become a domesticated housewife, I jumped at the opportunity.

It resulted in the following things:

- "Hi guys (all the chefs in the kitchen), my name is Valerie and I am here to cook!" followed by tripping all over the counters
- My posterior constantly blocking the walk way because of my lack of kitchen note-taking skills
- Kiddish-like scream when I was handed a FINDS uniform
-Getting distracted with everything going on in the kitchen, causing a HOT MESS everywhere.....
- Took me 8 eggs to get poached eggs presentable, 15 minutes to chop 2 carrots and 1 hour to make mayonnaise.
- Best comment of all, Jaakko says, "Valerie, now it's time to tuck the butter under the chicken skin." I thought in my head, "Do I have to touch the chicken? And if I do, are there any surgical gloves in the kitchen?"

步一步走向跟JAAKKO精致用餐

我一直想当一个厨师, 或至少厨技不错.
当我的朋友, Jaakko Sorsa (FINDS的总厨) 提供协助我当家庭主妇的旅途, 我当然爽快答应.

结果如下:

- "你们好 (厨房里所有厨师), 我叫Valerie今天来这里做菜!" 话没说完就被柜台绊倒了
- 因为缺乏写做菜笔记的技术我一直挡着通道
- 当我得到FINDS制服的时候发出小孩般的尖叫 
-被厨房里的一切弄致注意力分散, 导致到处热腾腾的一团糟.....
- 我用了8只鸡蛋学会煮一只美观的蛋, 15分钟切2条红萝卜还有1个小时弄蛋黄汁.
- 最好的评论, Jaakko说, "Valerie, 现在是时候把牛油放到鸡皮下了." 我在想, "我真的要碰那只鸡吗? 如果我要, 那厨房里有没有动手术用的手套?"
